We need your support to ensure the success of our curbside recycling program. Unfortunately, we've noticed an increase in household trash and other non-recyclable items being placed in recycling carts. This poses a significant challenge as recycling processing facilities are closely monitored by state regulations and are cracking down due to contaminated recyclables.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Recycle Smart Guidelines available on our website.
Here's a brief overview of what should and shouldn't go into your recycling cart:
Accepted Recyclables (Place Loose in Recycling Cart):
- Paper products (mixed paper, newspapers, magazines)
- Metal food and beverage cans
- Plastic bottles, jars, jugs, and tubs
- Glass bottles and jars
- Cardboard
Items to Avoid (Do Not Place in Recycling Cart):
- No plastic bags
- No clothing or linens
- No food or beverage items
- No tanglers (e.g., hoses, chains)
- No yard waste, leaves, brush, grass clippings, or dirt
- No hazardous waste
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in generating clean recyclables and contributing to the overall cleanliness and sustainability of Dracut. Thank you for helping make our community a wonderful place to live.
