Animal Control
Animal Control enforces the Town’s Animal Control By-laws, applicable Massachusetts General Laws, Town Policies, and relevant state, federal and local regulations. Protects animals from mistreatment and rids the town streets and roads of animal carcasses.

Assessors Office
The Assessors Office is responsible for the valuation of all the Town’s Real and Personal property in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Assessors office also reviews all recorded deeds and plan’s through Middlesex North Registry of Deeds. The Assessors office also reviews all building permits that have been issued by the Inspectional Services department.

Building Department
The Building Department responsibilities include the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the residents through the enforcement of State and Local laws, by-laws and regulations. The Department issues permits for and conducts inspections of all construction regulated by the State Building Code, conducts periodic inspections of public buildings as required, and enforces conditions on Special Permits and variances issued pursuant to the Town Zoning Bylaw.

Community Development
The Community Development Director acts as the first point of contact for residential development proposals. The Director reviews proposals and makes recommendations to the Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen on all application for Special Permits and Site Plan approval applications. Assists landowners, attorneys, engineers, real estate agents and potential buyers with the development process. Coordinates efforts with regional planning, policy and funding decisions. Provides support for planning and economic development throughout the Town.

Conservation Office
The Conservation Office and Conservation Commission consist of appointed employees and an appointed volunteer board that administers the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the Dracut Wetland Bylaw. Any altering, filling, dredging, or grading of land within 100 feet of any wetland, including lakes and ponds, or within 200 feet of a river or perennial stream will require a permit from the Conservation Commission. The Conservation Agent reviews plans to determine whether permits are required and provides instructions for submitting permitting forms to the Conservation Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Economic Development
The Economic Development Department acts the mediator between the Town and its commercial sector, and aids in locating an appropriate plot of land for potential business owners while also facilitating marketing efforts and acquiring local, state, or federal grants and loans for established enterprises.

Engineering Department
The Engineering Department contributes to the development, maintenance, and functionality of the municipality. This department serves the residents of Dracut by providing relevant information, technical support, and expert engineering services that relate to municipal operations and land use.

Finance Department
The Finance Department is managed by the Finance Director who oversees the day-to-day activities in the the offices of the Town Accountant, Assessors, Treasurer and Collector.

Fire Department
The Dracut Fire Department is to be a key team player with citizens of Dracut, local businesses and other government agencies working to maintain a community we can all be proud of with a strong sense of safety and security.

Health Department
The mission of the Dracut Board of Heath is to protect the public health of the Town of Dracut through the enforcement of health codes and regulations while promoting a healthy community. The Health Department, provides inspectional services aimed at protecting the public and environmental health.

Human Resources
The Human Resources department is responsible for assuring that the Town is compliant with federal, state, local and industry labor and safety laws and policies. Manages the hiring of personnel with the assistance of Department Heads and the Town Manager as well as the Assistant Town Manager.

Kenwood Water
The Kenwood Water Department is a municipal water supply that is a distribution only system. We purchase water from the Lowell and Methuen Water Departments and supply it to many of the residents and businesses in the eastern portion of the Town of Dracut.

Library
The Moses Greely Parker Memorial Library was founded to provide, organize, and preserve books, materials and information to increase the recreational and educational levels of the Dracut community. The Library has become a community center, providing a location for residents to come to sit, connect with technology, attend programs, and increase their awareness of the world around them.

Police Department
The mission of the Dracut Police Department is to provide the service of public safety to the community to whom we are sworn to protect. We do so through the judicious and professional enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in accordance with the Constitution of the United States.

Procurement
The Town of Dracut Procurement Office renders assistance to requesting departments in the formulation of Request for Quotes, Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications and administering contracts and reviewing purchase orders.

Public Works (DPW)
It is the goal of the Public Works Department to support and enhance the qualify of life for residents, businesses, and visitors by providing services to manage and upgrade the Town’s infrastructure in the most efficient manner and provide design, construction, and maintenance solutions for road, traffic, and conveyance systems in order to prioritize safety of the public.

Recreation
The Recreation Department and the Dracut Recreaton Commission is composed of appointed staff and volunteers who donate thousands of hours of their time and expertise to the youth of Dracut, so that they can participate in educational, safe, fun recreational activities.

School Department
The Dracut Public Schools aspires to be a world-class school system that develops the heads, hearts, and hands of its students and inspires them to be the critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators who make contributions to their communities, our nation, and the world. Senior Center
The Dracut Senior Center serves Dracut residents who are age 60+ and/or disabled. We provide everything from a place for older adults to drop in and be social, to low-cost fitness programs, transportation and nutrition, all the way to friendly visitors, benefits counseling and crisis support. Sewer Department
The Dracut Sewer Department is the Town’s municipal wastewater system. It is a consecutive system through Lowell to the Lowell Regional Wastewater Utility (LRWWU) and through Methuen to the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District (GLSD).

Stormwater Department
The Stormwater Department performs numerous functions to support the Town's drainage system, receiving streams, and ultimately to comply with the 2016 Massachusetts Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4). The Town of Dracut’s Stormwater Management Program implements activities and measures to comply with the terms and conditions of the MS4 permit.

Town Clerk
The Town Clerk's mission is to maintain certain town records, record town meeting minutes and election results, maintain vital records and issue licenses and other statutory tasks in an effort to uphold the integrity of the Town of Dracut's democratic process and to maintain and preserve public records.

Town Manager
The Town Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town and shall be responsible to the Board of Selectmen for the proper administration of all Town affairs placed in his/her charge by our under the Charter. The Town Manager is responsible for designating and monitoring the heads of various departments, committees, and groups, enforcing policies and regulations related to personnel and other matters.

The Department of Veterans’ Services oversees a state assistance program based on need, which provides financial, medical, and service benefits to veterans and their dependents.
