J&J Heating & Air Conditioning has been at 17 Arlington Street, Dracut (next to Wendy’s), since 1969, but the J&J of the title haven’t been part of the business since 1972.
Joe Ayotte and John McCann started the company, but Joe’s little brother, Ed Ayotte, has been running the business for nearly five decades. Ed started working for the company in 1971, making a buck an hour. In 1972, the original J&J moved on, and Ed took over, keeping the name.
In June 2023, he’ll have owned the business for 51 years. During those five decades, he has received countless commendations, including the Outstanding Amana Dealer Award several times over. You’ll still find Ed around, though his son-in-law, Eric Kline, has taken over as president.
J&J has a major project in the works for the section of Arlington Street his shop occupies. Stay tuned for more on that as the project goes through the approval process.
