The Selectmen are elected officials who serve as the executive body of the Town of Dracut. Executive powers are vested in the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen shall have all of the powers and duties given to Boards of Selectmen under the constitution and General Laws of the Commonwealth, and such additional powers and duties as may be authorized by the Charter, by Bylaw or by other Town Meeting vote.
The Historic Commission is a seven member commission appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Some responsibilities are going over demo requests, provide assistance to other boards and the Historical Society. Operation of the Harmony Hall Building and Varnum Room along with the Historical Society. Grants applications. All Historic related subjects in town.
The Planning Board Committee (PBC) shall be assigned the responsibility for overseeing the construction or reconstruction of all Town buildings, approval of plans thereof, and expending such funds as appropriated for such project by the Town Meeting.
