HAVE AN EMERGENCY?

If you have an emergency, Call 9-1-1

9-1-1 is the nationwide emergency number for the United States. If you have an emergency, or think you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. All 9-1-1 centers in Massachusetts are capable of receiving TTY calls and calls from non-English speaking callers.

If you call 9-1-1 by accident, please do not hang up. Stay on the line and notify the Telecommunicator of the error. If you do hang up, even if you don’t think the call went though, the 9-1-1 center will call you back – please answer and notify the Telecommunicator of the error. All 9-1-1 hang up calls that are not confirmed errors will have a police officer assigned to investigate.

Texting to 9-1-1 is available in Massachusetts.
